Humor 11 02 1966

 There is an element of humor in the phrase, "artistically corrected."

Perhaps it has to do with making something, making a mistake, and finishing we hat you made to be as good as or better.  All the while some how getting around the error you made in a good way.  Artistically corrected.

And it is a sign of expertise, in that only professionals are deemed to be valid in terms of implementation of "artistic license."
