Perhaps in order to be defined as a religion you can't practice against members who are not of your religion or members of your religion who don't know what you are up to?
What am I getting at? Should Voodoo be considered a religion? A bunch of women poking dolls resembling people that they don't like, with hat pins? In that case they are practicing against members not of their religion so it would not qualify as being a religion under my terminology.
In effect in my humble opinion, it should be labeled a domestic terrorist organization.
With regard to another religion, we might ask ourselves, is that a religion or a coping strategy for a grouping of autistic people? Perhaps because it is something practiced by the abnormal that is of the detriment of the normal it should not be classified as a religion.

But lets say that you had a religion whereby tens of thousands of children were sexually molested by members of that religion. But yet the stated religious beliefs of that religion and rock solid and sound. What do we do about that? I hate to reuse an Oprah episode. But she once had a sexual molester of children on her show. And he said that he saw their entire lives flash past his eyes when he molested them. Now, think of how a really bad person could get rich by seeing the future of young normal children of loving American parents. And that is the sickness we are dealing with.
So you have been individuals, bad actors, bringing down a religion and also bringing down democracies. But yet the religion they are employed by is the only one that exposes their demon nature in no uncertain terms.
And what does this amount to? People wanting to be something that they can never rightfully be. People wanting to have riches that they can never rightfully earn. I don't consider these people to be people who can be fully educated. Even though they could sell you a used car very well.
