Gun Talk 09 13 2025

So someone told me that you could empty your AR clip into a Viet Kong and they kept on running at you.  Do I wondered how that could be?

1. I always thought short powder in the casing might be the cause.

2. But what if a mech part were tampered with?  Whereby the bolt unlocks in a way to cause a rickety unpowered round?  If the bolt wears does it cause it to release early and therefore less power?  As the power forward is converted to blowback of the bolt in a perhaps microprecise way that makes a big difference?  Whereby the gun cycles fine but with less power (muzzle force) and hence s tumbling bullet?  And perhaps it had to do with rifling?  But that is something that should have been easily known.  Too tight rifling creating too much spin, too much spin causing tangential velocity paths?  That is something that should have easily been known and labeled a "no go" for distribution from factory.  And there could be a factor with regard to a certain combination of powder charge to rifling barreling being a certain flunky?

But in two here I was thinking more of firing mechanism.  Whereby it is something internal not readily understood?  So the question would be if the bolt carrier was different in some way?

Sound like paranoia?  Let me ask you this, if they don't care for you when you are back home did they also not care for you while in service and perhaps before?

The most shady characters I ever met tried to convince me to join up to the army while I was pumping gas to make money to pay my way through college.  A few months before the Persian Gulf War or op freedom or whatever you want call it.
