Sources of Polluted Water Runoff 01 21 2011

Sources of Polluted Water Runoff 01 21 2011
How come we cannot fertilize our crops with human waste when we do already?  What am I talking about?  Every time there is an above average rain the sewers overflow and end up in Lake Michigan the source of our drinking water.  What else am I talking about?  The water treatment plants only then sell the waste they filter out of the water we drink back to the farmers and growers as fertilizer anyway.
To address non source point water contamination has been a hard issue to address.  As city streets are paved and most farms have creeks that eventually find their way into our rivers.
The way to address the paved non source point runoff is to require cars to have tires that are considered more durable and also to make cars that put forth less emissions.  But it is not just that, the automobile of today has unspent fuel from the tailpipe, antifreeze, motor oil, brake fluid, power steering fluid  and transmission fluid, battery acid and brake dust asbestos.  All of these “leak” and are toxic to human health.  This country needs to take the initiative to make these as safe as something like cooking oil.  Following the correct path often has many unforeseen benefits.
NON SOURCE POINT RUNOFF AND FARMERS
In terms of farm based non source point runoff, we need to develop and promote farming methods that do not create this runoff.  Do not worry about the farmers as there are very few left and the ones that are left are most likely millionaires.  They get paid vacations to places in the tropics for promoting the “seed” of the trading companies.  These same trading companies are also heavily involved in commodities trading, and they churn honest Americans of their hard earned paychecks meant to invest and grow.  Investing was not created to be the gamble that it is today for most investors.  And to the contrary if investing in commodities were a true gamble you would have seen these firms end up on the wrong side of the investment and bankrupt a long time ago.  It is not a gamble for them because they can always get more financing as was the case for our nation’s banks.  In effect you pay when you invest and lose and you also pay as a taxpayer when they lose.  It is a no win situation.  Commodities are only a gamble for the individual investor and the odds are very slim or him/her.
TOO MUCH FOOD MEANS FAT AMERICANS AND MORE RUNOFF
We produce too much food already, average American in obese and stupid.  We produce so much food that we give it away to other countries.  Tell me how the price of food is going to triple when we give it away already and the average farmer today is a millionaire?  Your argument will read like this one did circa 1989, “If we don’t invade Iraq we will see three dollars a gallon gasoline.”
As for the price of food I would like to go into a grocery store and stiff arm or close line half the stuff on the shelves into the garbage today.
HOUSEHOLD CHEMICALS
Chemicals that we use in laundry need to be safe too and there are efforts to do this but the ones I used took all the color from my clothes away.
How hard would it be for every American to have a septic system tank for his toilet waste?  If you go out to farming country you will see one of these behind every house.  Because it was too expensive to put in a sewer to handle this and because they do not want their water table contaminated.  Why is it that those of us who live on the shores of Lake Michigan do not care about what should be considered our greatest natural resource.
Back to Farm Runoff
Eliminating this can be done today but you will never see anyone in our public office who is strong enough to agree to do it.  You may not want to agree to do the right thing for everyone else but if you loved your wife and children you would.  What could happen if we do not, the planet would no longer support intelligent human life.  What you will see first will be animals that look like people and then none.  The human race likely developed its intelligence from caring and a caring for cleanliness.  If you believe in evolution and I do not, it can be said that cleanliness it is through the cleanliness and the caring of cleanliness of others that we differentiated and evolved through natural selection.  Let me be very clear about this.  It is very hard to clean out what is in our bodies that should not be there and it is the major source of disease.  Because no one wants to do anything about it we may someday not be able to differentiate ourselves from animals in terms of intelligence.  And believe me Satan does not care because he/she already has the intelligence of an animal.
And that is where I will end this article with you thinking of the term, “Strong enough to agree to do the right thing.”

Lost in the Translation 01 19 2011

Lost in the Translation 01 19 2011

“We can’t do that.”  Politicians say.
The reason the United States adopted the metric system more formally in 1975 was because they said we needed it in order to become more competitive.  Now you have to remember just a few years before this the Kennedy administration took us to the moon.  And you have to remember that before this we made the best stuff in the world.  And before this we had the most educated population in the world.
Now guess what.  In the United States we will always be either five or six feet tall.  We will always be either thirty or ten pounds overweight.  We will always be adding a cup of flour to our bread not a liter.
What am I getting at?  We used to make the best stuff in the world and today we can’t even teach children how to read.
The metric system made those who had less feel they had more after all centimeter is half an inch so you have more centimeters if use this measure.  But wait it is not have an inch it is a little less than more than half an inch so you get more per centimeter with this measurement.
Once they got us committed to walk on their path behind them, we soon lost sight of them after a few short miles or kilometers as we must know have to take our standards and translate them into something else.   What have we lost in the translation?  First we lost the lead in the automotive industry. And second and more importantly we lost the ability to translate good ideas into marketable products.  Third, we completely lost our manufacturing sector.  Do you know how much time it takes to figure out that 5/16 inch bolt is really an m8 x 1.5 metric bolt with twenty threads per inch?  And that is exactly right this standard metric bolt has exactly twenty threads per inch.  Who pulled the wool over our eyes?  Our engineers waste quite a bit of time trying to focus on sourcing cheap parts from overseas to make products based on our standards.  And to the contrary our standards have lost the translation into products.  I get the feeling that many ideas do make it through the translation.  We will always think in terms of pounds and inches.  You are never going to hear that football commentator say that so and so weighs so many kilograms and is so many centimeters tall.   It is never going to happen at this level and for it to be effective it has to readily understood at all levels and it will not be because it is not practical.  Why because it is not a relevant system to use to describe real world phenomenon such as people.  There will never be discernment between so many centimeters tall and ten more centimeters than that.  It just does not have the bench marking that a foot does to our everyday experience.  And improving our everyday experience is what is important not that of another countries.
Once we switched to the metric system in the automotive industry we lost our ability to focus on what was important in making automobiles.  And the foreign competition used this, our being lost in the translation to zoom ahead of us.  Whether we want to admit or not we are dependent on foreign countries for everything manufactured today.  If inevitably we experience inflated prices because of this to bolster the economies of foreign countries we will start to suffer.  Chinas restriction of rare earth metals is just the start of this.  But this is okay because it will force the United States to become more responsible in the end.
What busy body prep woman is ever going to brag about losing kilograms of weight?  The skinny one she is talking to is going to ask right away, "Well how many pounds is that?" And no average person wants to have to remember the conversion factors.  Just put the average college graduate on a "Are you smarter than a fifth grader" show and they will fail at this one miserably even though they were taught this.  And what man in the weight room is going to try and convert the pounds to kilograms to try and get the right weight for the next set.  I give you a clue it is the one with the broken back.
Two systems are not practical. And because of the computer they are not needed.  Computers were not readily available when the US renewed its push to the metric system in 1975.  We have not been back to the moon and effectively we have been lost in space regarding our space program.  What will happen next is the foreign countries that we allowed to gain the lead will now take this up and be the leader and we will still be asking ourselves who killed the Kennedys’.  I’ll give you a hint on this one also, we can’t even teach children to read today.
When we think of the metric system in this country we need to use a new labeling system for it and only refer to it in terms of our SAE or Standard units of measurement.  In other words, people learn from the base of what they know already, so we should only refer to metric system measurements in terms of our Units of Measurement.  For example instead of using a kilogram we should call it a poundgram using its conversion to pounds as the preceding number.  And a centinch is an inch so a centinch is defined then as being 2.2 centimeters or whatever the actual translation is, I am not going to bother looking these up today or tomorrow and neither will you.  Hereby when have built the conversation factor into our standard and only refer to the metric system as a matter or reference system. Why?  Because this makes the translation easy and the real world phenomenon it represents the focus of importance.  Remember we cannot even teach our children to read.
You cannot teach two systems of measurement to a person and have those both be relevant.  We lost at least two to three generations of practical engineers because of this.
The only ones who really understand the metric system in our everyday lives are the Engineers who design analog computer chips.  Those are computer chips that translate real world phenomenon, that is things like miles and miles per hour, our standard units of measure.  It will never be practical for us to adopt the metric system in our everyday lives because it does not have meaningful benchmarks.  I can hear you already saying why can’t we make a benchmark system out of the metric system?  Because we already have our benchmark systems and we have been engrained with an understanding of them that passes from generation to generation.
We used to make the best stuff on earth; today our junk piles are filled sky high with junky foreign electronics that are cheap and no longer work.  There ought to be a law against them they are like a toxic cyst marker to someone else’s profit.  Just the other day I touched an HD table top radio and a shock from my finger broke it, the digital clock on it is still ticking but the radio has no function whatsoever.  If I want to set the clock correctly I suppose there are only two times in the day that I can do that, at twelve and twelve.  Yeah they like those witching hours.  Kind of defeats the purpose of having a clock doesn’t it.
What else did we get from giving up our standard?  The earth and that includes water and skies are more polluted than they have ever been.  We had set the standards in this country but somewhere along the way those without standards have come to rule us and this is what we get.
Johnny’s baseball bat will always be made of wood we measure in feet.  My fishing poles will always be measured in feet and inches.  Those newborn babies will always be measured in pounds.  A basketball and a football will always require so many pounds of air if we even bother to measure or conceive a way to measure how much air is in them without it all leaking out before we have to add more and accurately form the guess as to how much is in them.  Now that just makes sense to me as a better and more responsible measurement.  Why?  Because it is one we have to think or in real world terms, real world that is the origin of reality now isn’t it.
By the time Johnny figures out how to convert pounds to whatever it is metric and then try and fill his soccer, football, basketball or whatever it is with the proper amount without it leaking out whereby he then has to guess he will not have learned how to play the sport.  I can hear someone already saying that if they create a gauge for sports equipment that doesn’t leak air after it measures that they will be rich, well you will.  But the rest of us will still be living in a pile of junk.  I bought a digital tire gauge and after figuring out it did not work by wasting two toxic batteries that are not good for something else I went back to the old reliable mechanical gauge.  More junk in our landfills and a lesser standard of living for Americans.
Let the metric system only be referred to as a fraction of our standard units of measure.
When we switched systems to favor those adopted by countries we were already ahead of and that was all of them we lost everything.  And we did this after we lost a great President.
Who are we going to cater to next the Mexicans?  Most got here illegally and cannot even speak English with what’s left of the rest of us.  Here is what they are rudely saying, “This guys American, act like you are a natural born citizen while I serve him this burrito with e-coli hamburger meat that has sat in the bin all day along with the mayo or cream that is also a breeding ground for viruses and bacteria.  This will make him sick but he won’t know what caused it.  He will just assume it is the water here in the US that is now the same as it is in Mexico.  Don’t worry soon he will have to switch to our brain child Pesata system of measurement and also forced to speak our cluck sounding language until they are all dead.”
The foreign standards garbage that doesn’t work more than a day is piling up in our landfills and then all these precious metals that China won’t give us anymore are apt to seep through the landfills and into are water systems.  And our children are then born to look like the village outcasts who have had to drink their water from downstream of where the Royal Chinese have their outhouse on the shore of the river earth.  And if you don’t think a person born with down’s syndrome or what we used to call a Mongoloid looks just like a Chinese person you are on a system of measurement that is not based in reality.  A mongoloid is indeed what the immigration department used to term a low grade imbecile and deport.  And here are two facts that you do not know about low grade imbeciles.  1.  Their minds are different and develop differently, it is what I call dependent minded.  And 2. There a great many of them in the United States and the majority of them look like traditional Americans.
The system of measure is not what is important; it was the standards that stood behind it.  It was something that is now historical today and it can only be truly termed “American Values”.  It was our ideas and concepts about how things should be measured and understood that was important and that has been lost in the translation.  Is it any wonder we cannot teach a child who drinks out of the equivalent of toilet water how to read?  Every American should install water filtration systems in their house to combat this.  How could ever force a nation of low grade imbeciles to do this.  How could you teach a nation that cannot even read and drinks polluted water that clean water is important?  How can you ever mandate clean water in this country when our intelligence in terms of understanding its importance is nonexistent because of it?  It will never be mandated even though it should because low grade imbeciles are in power today.  Argue with them and the first thing they do is reach for a cigarette to combat the stress of having to think.  A low grade imbecile would rather kamikaze dive bomb you to its death than admit it is a low grade imbecile.  In case you missed paying the twenty five cents for my last article. Japan was a large polluter of Mercury in the decades that lead up to it bombing Pearl Harbor in WWII.  If you do not think that Mercury poisoning leads to psychotic kamikaze behavior you also do not know that a 5/16 inch bolt or a ¼  bolt that isn’t an SAE bolt but instead a metric bolt is really a metric bolt labeled an M8 x 1.5 which is really a bolt that has exactly twenty teeth per INCH.
What’s next?  We are all forced to read Chinese symbol language?  I’ll wonder whatever happened to our red hexagonal stops signs when I am wearing peasant shoes and walking a mile for a loaf of bread I can’t pay for.  That is, if I don’t get locked up and caned first for asking patriotic questions, the answers to which are a reality that they cannot stand.
Problems have many levels and I have not even addressed how important it is not to pollute in the first place when it comes to the water we drink in our taps.  But to solve any problem you must address it at its source, there is really no other way.

A Time Released Poison Activated By Exercise 01 19 2011

A Time Released Poison Activated By Exercise 01 19 2011
My High School chemistry teacher was Miss Mitchell.  She was overweight and had what I can only accurately describe as a PMS attitude, “Snapping at students for asking good questions?”  Like, “Why do they put all those chemicals in the diet soda?”
“Because they are good for you.” She was her battle axed response in what would become litany of such responses that semester.  She bragged about how she had applied to be on the space shuttle mission.  “This woman has no business in space!  She’s no astronaut I thought to myself.”  It wasn’t too long after that, that we watched the space shuttle Challenger flare fuel out of a hole in its rocket engine and corkscrew until the hole became so big that it blew up.  It was a good thing that she wasn’t accepted on that mission but rather fatefully the young chain drinker of diet soda died not too long after that of a heart attack.
Her nickname was Bubbles.  When the body has toxins that it cannot get rid of they are stored in our fat cells.  That is why it is so hard for people to lose weight.  Because once they start to lose weight they are re-exposed to the toxins that the body has cocooned with fat.  Your body was not able to flush them out the first time so you become sick upon re-exposure.  And once you become sick from exercise you are not likely to repeat it.  In effect the thing that is the most healthy for you actually makes you sick.  But indeed you only have one choice and that is to exercise and when you do you have to supplement yourself to counteract the “Because they are good for you” supplemental toxins in your food and body.  I am not going to go into details about this.  I did mention a list of items available over the counter that bind to the toxins so that your body can flush them from your system on my health secrets website.  But for this article I am getting at the heart of the issue and that is the toxins in our environment.  This includes tobacco smoke, alcohol, food additives and the polluted air and drinking water.  These are issues that our government needs to address.  If we address these you would be surprised to find out how quickly the rest of the world would abandon their wars and instead watch us lead in example.  (Rather than watch us torture Arabs in an example of leadership)
A wild animal is unlikely to attack you.  But there are many reasons why they sometimes do.  For example a bear eating fermented berries.  A bear might also eat something from a dump that has a toxin in it that alters their brain chemistry in such a way that they attack too.  And of course there is the Rabies virus that makes them “violent”.
Can people be blinded by greed?  Can a father and son both be blinded in such a manner?  A father and son, that is the start of a group.
Japan is noted in the history of the world as having been one of the biggest dumpers of Mercury into environment.  When did this dumping occur?  It occurred in the years and decades preceding World War II.  Can Mercury poisoning be attributed to the Japans surprising attack on the United States at Pearl Harbor?  Can we also attribute suicide the suicide kamikaze bombers from Japan as being sickened from this Mercury poisoning.  Is this not the same destructive behavior as an animal with rabies exhibits?
Can it be said that these toxins are also influencing behavior in other parts of the ocean they were near such as Korea?  The three legged frogs and birds falling dead out the sky are telling me this is true.
Where did Sadam do with all the chemical weapons the military intelligence of the United States funded him to make?  They were burned, destroyed or buried.  Who made money from the sale of these chemicals to Iraq?  That one is rhetorical.  What happened to the environment in the Middle East during the Persian Gulf War.  Saddam sheared the well heads and flared the oil into the atmosphere, black billowing smoke.  The chemical weapons were incinerated, more fumes into the Middle East air.  Chemical weapons buried in the ground, that is where the water table is.  What then happened a decade later?  We saw the incidence of nation of alkiada (Sp) emerge with the mentality of rabid animals.  As if the Opium they smoked wasn’t enough to make them dangerous they now were influenced by all these other unnatural chemicals whose profits fueled the “Post WWII Culture of the United States”.
Where will these time released chemicals strike next?  I’ll give you a hint.  There are many Americans that are overweight.  If hard times ever fell upon this country and they were forced to physically work hard to earn a living, and I mean sweat like you do picking cotton in the fields.  They would be dropping like flies or sinking their psycho sharpened teeth into everyone around them in the field.  That is only if they do not seize political power as they have today and start another Kamikaze war.
Many times in my life fatty cysts have formed in my body?  They are like little hard nodules of fat under the surface of the skin.  I have gone to the doctor and the response is always the same, we usually don’t remove those.  Am I lucky in that my toxins in my metabolism are stored in cyst form rather than generally dispersed in layer upon layer of fat cells?  Yes. If these fatty cysts containing what I have termed cocooned toxins were removed from my body as well as others in our population would we not be healthier?  If the government were to actually regulate what the American diet of pollution should be would we not be healthier and smarter?
In other words should the health care system of the United States prevent such cysts from forming or remove what it has allowed to sicken us from our bodies?
What do we do when our government promotes cysts?  What do we do when what is supposed to be the intelligent organ of countries leaders, their brains, are the equivalent of such cysts?
Do we need to regulate farms so that the productive farming methods that pollute the world and give us cheap food are now more labor intensive?  Sounds like the best idea for creating jobs that I have thought of all week, other than dredge or rivers and Lake Michigan of their toxic sludge bases.

Our Metabolisms Response to Sickness 01 19 2011

Our Metabolisms Response to Sickness 01 19 2011
Where are these toxic chemicals stored when they enter the human body?  In the fat cells.  That is why when overweight people try and lose weight they get sick.  Why?  Because as they are using the fat from the fat cells up during exercise the toxic chemicals that were cocooned by the body in fat cells re-expose themselves to the body’s metabolism and bloodstream.  Your body did not know what to do with them in the first place because they did not belong there.  How many people get fat as a means for the bodies mechanism to protect from what they eat in the first place?  So, the more you eat the more you have to eat in order to protect yourself from what you eat, and the fatter you get.
I have to ponder and ask myself the philosophical question, “Do we store what we profited from in the bodies of those we sold to?  As if we have marked them when we have profited from them?”
The other day I saw a politician dancing in victory with his wife who was more endearing than a Walt Disney rat.  It warmed my heart to see how this man loved his wife and her him.  The contradiction I saw also offered hope to me that someone who would seem to have a regressionary political agenda might be able to re-embrace the values of this country that his political party has made vacant.
At the gym last night I saw a man who did not have any arms.  He wore a short sleeved shirt.  I could see that he did have some form of fingers sticking out of his shoulder, so it was indeed due to a birth defect.  I asked myself, “If these types of birth defects where present in our history what could we could we attribute the source of them to?”  I could only think of one thing, “A person drinking contaminated water.”  The kind you might find downriver from where someone might go to the bathroom.   It could also be caused by other forms of bacterial and viral influence on the developing embryo.  Is it not too far of a leap of logic to say that we have created more of these contaminants in our modern world than even the most accomplished scientist could portend or “pretend” to understand?  Are these like a fuse that could lead to the extinction of the human race?  It takes courage to stand up for what you know is right.  To speak your mind in the face of wealth creation that oppresses.

In the locker room with his mentally challenged son.  The sons face was kind of overcast.  The father appeared to have everything, nice clothes, etc.  I asked myself, “What might have this father lost in his quest for wealth and power.”  The answer was quite simple.  The answer I saw in his son standing right next to him.  Whatever he had he lost the ability to pass it on to his next generation.  And in his quest for wealth and power, “WE LOST THE ABILITY TO DRINK FROM THE WELL.”
I have to stand up in the locker room to change for fear of sitting on the stool and getting a fungal infection of the crotch and seat.  An infection that can also travel upwards and populate a person whole digestive track.  What happens when this happens?  A person goes into a stupor and also gains weight.  Because not only are they feeding themselves but also the fungus inside of them.
The man with the mentally challenged son thought he was tough, he through his sons headphones on the floor, as if to say, “We can eat off the floor and we will be fine.  Germs are not the cause of our problems it is people like him there.”
I am forty four years old and it is only recently that I have learned to adopt the advice a nun gave my father when he was a boy. “When you have trouble just ejaculate.”  Ejaculate means a sudden outburst of speech and it is good for you.  Like all good things in life evil changes the definition of them so that they are not good for you.  (Gay is another one of these words.)  But here is what my ejaculate consisted of in response, “Why don’t you just make him eat off the floor.”  The man continued to act a little huffy so I followed with, “Eat the Plato poison to wise one.”
Can people indeed be blinded by greed?  Can they also blind us with their greed?  The man’s son’s eyes tell me this is true.
After I was done at the gym I went to the office supply store to buy a plastic container to hold my photographs in.  I have been holding them in cardboard box under the table next to my chair.  But coffee spilled off the table and some of them stuck together.  While I was at the office supply store a man came in shopping with his wife.  They split up and didn’t think that I would realize this.  The woman proceeded to follow me all around the store as if to pose in front of me.  I could hear the short man who looked like a sick badger taunt me from an isle over.  Needless to say I had a few sudden outbursts while I was in the store.  These are the kind of outbursts our New America want to label and disempower you for.
On my way home from the store I pondered why a woman would marry a man who could not provide for her.  I also wondered why do people like this always think that the source of their problems is always outside of the two of them.  It is the nature of irresponsibility.  Needless to say if you are ever bothered by a couple like this the best sudden outburst to say is, “I know who makes the money in that family.”  I do not look at those that I say these things to for two reasons. 1.  They have been told these things all their lives and never listened respectfully once.
2. When I have looked at them I have often seen that they start crying.  When I see someone crying I feel like crying too.  If I am crying too, their spoiled distraction has worked.
And indeed earlier at the gym a large white man was with his young blonde wife.  I almost knocked shoulders with this man.  And they were making a scene to draw attention to themselves and distract everyone else from getting their money’s worth of workout.  I waited until they were together again and just let it fly, “I know who makes the money in that family.”  The muscular tough face man held his composure and walked out of the gym and was not seen again.  His wife scampered after him a little later.  Was I disrespectful?  No, I did not start that.  And children in our classrooms today should be able to learn free from distraction also.  And they should not be ostracized for asking the teacher questions that he or she cannot answer.
When I went to bed at night I realized that sometimes “Hops” pills have given me a more restful sleep.  Hops is the grain that is added to beer to give it more flavor.  I know this because before I gave up alcohol altogether I brewed the best beers that I have ever tasted.  I then pondered philosophically again, “Do the hops extract pills work because they fool the evil spirits into believing that I am passed out drunk?”
I am going to get philosophical one last time in this article but this time with rhetoric, “Do you think our politician would love his wife more if she was more healthy?”

A Litmus Test for Scott Walker 01 05 2011

A Litmus Test for Scott Walker 01 05 2011
Scott you wanted so bad to be Governor.  Now that you are Governor you ask for input in terms of Job creation.  Your focus seems to be on the private sector.  Well I have found just the opportunity for you to create job growth.
When I was a young boy, between thirty five and forty years ago I used to go fishing on the shores of Lake Michigan.  Every twenty feet or so there was a man casting a spinning reel from shore with a spoon on the end.  And it did not matter where in Milwaukee County you went you would see this.  They were casting at the beaches off of McKinley Marina, they were casting off of Atwater Piers, they were casting off of big bay shores and the pier, they were casting off of Klode Park and they were casting off of Doctors Park shores and piers.  Now they were not casting for no reason like you might be considered to do if you were casting in these same spots today.  There was a very good chance that you might catch a fish.
I walked with my father who didn’t know how to fish either and an Italian man showed us his Spinning Rod and Reel with a Little Cleo spoon on the end of the line.  I watched him cast and saw how it worked.  My father bought me one from Sears and Roebuck and I was in the business of fishing from shore.  It was fun and exciting and I enjoyed it.
Scott what has changed since the mid 1970’s?  For one the water is a lot shallower here.  It does not take a genius to figure out why this is.  What am I talking about you ask?  I will tell you.  Every time there is a rainfall this water along the shore is filled with dirty brown runoff water.  When the particulate runoff then enters the water it is now called silt.  Where does this silt end up? I’ll give you a hint; it does not flow in some river magically through the Saint Lawrence Seaway and out into the Atlantic Ocean.  It collects on the bottom like dust that someone swept under the rug.  And the water gets a lot shallower.  This silt is also contaminated.  That is why you don’t want to go swimming in it after a rainfall; you are likely to end up in the hospital with an infection.
What has caused this layer of silt to form?  I will tell you it is the accumulation from years of Republican Influence in our country that feels politics should have nothing to do with clean water, air and earth.  These types want to believe in the Old Testament that, “The land is yours to do with as you please.”  What happens when we are all left to live in an environment that is incapable of supporting human life?  It is the end of the human race.  You should think of a healthy fish population along the shore line as the litmus test for how healthy our planet is both now and in future generations to come.  This should always be a litmus test for the health of our environment.
This country had high power solar cells one and a half inches in diameter in the 1970’s that could power a small motor that could spin a small propeller blade.  Development and scale up of this technology was frowned upon in favor of the, “I will be the one to use up all the oil before it is gone.” Attitudinals.
What I would propose that you do is have the shores of Lake Michigan dredged to make it deeper and indeed more like it was in the 1970’s.  The theory of how lakes become swamps states that slowly and little by little over time they become shallow as they fill with silt.  In the terms of the natural history of Lake Michigan the water filled in with silt to become more shallow faster than one could have ever predicted.  This shore needs to be dredged deeper.
And before or after you are doing this you need to think of what to do with the silt that you will have dredged.  This is a concept in business that is known as the duplicitous thought and use of byproducts of production.  In other words as the Indians made use of every animal they killed, we in business and job creation must also seek to find a “utility” for all the waste we create.  What can we make from silt?  As it contains fine silica from runoff it might be a good source for the raw material of photovoltaic panel, polysilica.  In effect we could go back in time and fix two problems at once.  Clean the water and develop a clean and renewable source of energy.
Also in order to be proactive, and I will tell you what that means, it means that when you fix one problem you do not cause another or make the fix you did readily flawed so that it has to be re-fixed.  Being proactive means you fix it right the first time and it is indeed a true solution.  As you begin your political career as Governor of Wisconsin keep this tenet in mind in every decision you make, it will not only help you think better but it will also give this state a better future and set a better example for the rest of the country.  What does this mean?  It means that after the Lake bottom is dredged along this shoreline, runoff silt is never allowed to compromise this natural resource ever again.  It would have to thus be captured and utilized.
