Looks like about 80 to 100 miles on the Southern border of Israel whereby they could build a Canal that would provide some competition to the Suez Canal?
For example, what if Israel built a Canal there and didn't charge anyone to use it.
I think ships pay a lot to go through the Suez Canal, and many of them carry oil?
Could it be done?

The Suez Canal money somehow goes to England even though the United States saved it big time in WW2?

The problem is that we get into wars and yet we are really not Imperial! So we don't take the spoils of the war. Because you have to shoot people in order to keep the spoils of war and manage them?
So someone else ends up with the spoils of war. And we suffer from doing the fighting? In other words we die for other imperial nations? How is that good for our Democracy? Step back and look at the gestalt of that in terms of what Defense Spending really means? It is a giveaway in more than one way? Like a cork in the pool that needs to be sealed in place? And the shame is that you go in a split second to saying what can the Constitution say and do about it to the Constitution already said we are not to have an army in times of peace.
We set up mfg plants in Mexico and now they are flooding our border? Can a correlation to imperialism be made there? The corporation being a mini monarchy? The U.S. competing with China who was managed through Hong Kong ownership by Great Britain? Imperialism is more about killing for the money? What wars can be termed Imperialist caused? Create a siphon whereby you don't want to pay Americans a living wage because Communist China can do it cheaper? And we are supposed to compete with that Imperialism? Why is our Dollar even allowed to be converted to and fro from those countries? Why say that is in any way the equivalent of us? You never once asked yourself is that bad friend going to get me in trouble in some way?
