To me..my laymen's knowledge... It looks or sounds like he also invented the "break beat". If any of his original recordings were ever found they would be invaluable to civilization and also priceless!
It looks like what did Buddy in was Alcohol. Drinking alcohol made it so that he couldn't recover from the torment and was institutionalized, for ~23(?) years. What a horror.
Who among people at that time would be so jealous that they would destroy his works? And Jazz is indeed good! They knew it was good, were insanely jealous and destroyed his works? Oh, there is a pattern of that in our country's history!
