Chemical Ignition Welding 12 31 2025

Let's say I have a 12" metal disc that is 1" thick and I want to weld the cupped end of a discarded cv axle to that...so that the splined shaft faces upwards and it is centered.

That would form a lamp base stand whereby a pipe could be the riser to that shelf the light sits on.  That pipe held to the base with a removable thru pin.

*****'

Okay the meat.

There aught to be a metal type putty strip I could place between the two, ignite with pocket lighter, it melts to 2000 degrees glowing hot, and welds itself and the two assembly pieces together.

It would seem to me in this day and age of chemistry that would be possible.

And think of how industrial and military equipment could also readily be fixed.

And perhaps it already exists and has a name.  But I haven't seen it at the hardware store :).
