The Absolute Best 12 16 2025

 1. If I am making a storage box for common batteries such as AA,AAA, D,C etc.

2. And the batteries are to be stored upright in that box.

3. What is the best material to use as a base or a top that might abutt those batteries?  Let's say I were to engineer the individual holes the batteries sit in so that the center where it touches the negative terminal is recessed?  Would that be ultimate best or would it create a wedge force that caused such batteries to leak.  And really what I am talking about is a test of different materials and configurations over a period of time, with controls, to determine what type of such material and or configuration works the best?  And also about configuring distance or separation from terminal to terminal.  But in such a way that batteries could readily be picked out of such storage case and used.

And indeed, perhaps just plastic works the best at this.  But I believe there could be better
