If I were President of the United States I would contrast one sided façade metal frameworks of pyramids in the dessert and attach photovoltaic panels to the southern facing or sun facing side. These great powerhouses of energy would quickly lesson our dependence on high polluting and war causing fossil fuels.
Sure there are those who would bitch for a hundred years that we would have to do environmental impact studies first. But the truth is that the great pyramids of Egypt have been there for a very long time!
We could even use the silica in the dessert to produce the solar panels on site if the process was invented and perfected. It would be much like how old road material is ground up on site and put into the “same” new road on site.
