Jesus and Heaven 02 06 2019

Jesus and Heaven 02 06 2019

He said something to the effect that if either your hand, foot or eye causes you to sin that you are better off to cut it out/off then go into heaven with it?

What does that imply?
1.  That sinners can get into heaven?  But only if they cut off the body part that caused them to sin?
2.  That the punishment for sin should be partial dismemberment?

But more importantly ask yourself this.  Would God really allow someone into heaven that mutilated their body that was created in the image of God?  I don't think that he would.

Disclaimer, this is based on memory of Bible reading and could therefore be flawed?  But I doubt it.

But maybe it means this, "God will take you into heaven as long as you are made incapable of sinning?  No.  Because per my memory it was phrased that you could go into heaven with that limb/eye but it wouldn't be good for you in some way.  Which would mean that you would be rejected from heaven.  And that must be worse than going to hell or purgatory directly?  To be rejected from heaven that was indeed Satan.

So the word Devil comes from Sanskrit Dev and so does Devine, but also doesn't Deviant?  And how many others?  So what is the balance of meaning and what did the original Dev word mean?
