They always say in the news, "And this is the gun (specifically identified person) used to kill so and so, and it is untraceable."
But yet you had no problem figuring out who used it to kill someone? So the fact that it had no serial number wasn't relevant.
I think we need to stick to what the Founding Fathers gave us in the Constitution.
And what is the valid reason to have a serial number on anything; a manufacturer representing American Manufactured quality and honoring a warranty.
