There are an awful lot of single mothers out there aren't there.
Which brings up a very interesting question.
I wonder how many single mothers bought their son his first gun?
I would think that number would be very close to zero.
I have no idea what the percent is though.
Perhaps it is indicative of our nation becoming less patriarchal? And there is no way to foster that idealism on a single mother.
Patriarchal because it is more or less of a judgment a father makes of his own son. Does the father believe his own son has been imprinted with mature adult responsibility by him? That same imprinting does not occur with a single mother. And it can't. The male and female brains are different. Sorry "Tom Boy."
And that single mother knows how her own son suffered in life doesn't she! Again, I think that number has to be close to zero.

And on the flipside, to be fair, perhaps that son of a single mother turned out a lot better than whatever his low life substance abuse father was going to make him into.
