The scholars do not have this passage interpreted any where near correct.

When I get time I will post the actual passage and tell you what it really means.

But the the first part of the interpretation has to do with how what we are told is an intangible demon can find or needs to look for other intangible demons.

The second part has to do with that it is actually referencing the demons life state is what becomes worse when it joins up with 7 other demons.

And that doesn't look to be the right text in `12 34-35 I will have to search for it again.  How could google get it wrong?  Bible disinformation on the internet?  There might be entire religions that put forth Bible disinformation.

It is in NAB 12: 43  And other versions that I have read online have the wording so off that it is not even negligence it is fraud.  The other versions have the wording so that the unclean spirit is really the person it is driven out of!  That isn't how it is in NAB 12:43.  And again the implication of this is that the unclean spirit is really a person of some sort.  A person whose spirit returns to their home.  Can not find rest there.  Joins up with 7 other low life dead heads.  And then their life is a lot worse.

I am going to write it word for word from NAB 12:43 and you compare that wording to other Bibles.  But not only in wording but what the passage is cited as being, its numbers.

Matther 12:43

The Return of the Unclean Spirit

43 "When an unclean spirit goes out of a person it roams through arid regions searching for rest but finds none.  44  Then it says, 'I will return to my home from which I came.'  But upon returning, it finds it empty, swept clean, and put in order. 45  Then it goes and brings back with itself seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they move in and dwell there; and the last condition of that person is worse than the first.  Thus it will be with this evil generation."

Do you see that Jesus is saying the unclean spirit is actually a person.  A person that can dwell in a place.  Jesus is saying that the unclean spirits that he drove out of people are exactly what is described in Matthew 12: 43-45

And apparently that unclean spirit can't make it on its own so in brings in 7 people more evil than itself.

I am asserting this is the correct interpretation.

To solidify the same point as per Jesus, he is saying it is true of an entire generation.  A generation refers to people.  Not some ghosts of ghosts.  He is also implying that they were not like that before.
