So I have fished downstream on the Milwaukee River a few times. Been there with a boat and kayak.
But last time I vowed never to get on it again because of the sickening stench.
So what is that distinctive smell.
I want to say it is fertilizer that they put on the golf course?
And then I asked myself how many golf courses are on the river? At least two.
But you will also smell the creosote from rotting railroad ties in certain parts of it.
And then there is also what I would call an E coli Fecal smell.
Then to a lesser extent there is a liquified rubber/ tar smell present.
Add those up and what do you get? Should it really total the year 2025?
