 And I do find it sad that he died of heart failure at the age of 61.  Why?  Because I think that if a person makes a substantial contribution then the longer they live the more substantial contributions they will make.  And the more they will experience the benefit of knowing their substantial contributions.  And the longer they will serve as a living role model.

Why did I research this?  Because I wanted to determine which side of the resistor the inventor of the resistor defined to be positive.

By reading the patent it looks to me like he put an expansion stitch stretch joint in the wire wrapping of the resistor with this invention.

And I can't understand all the spelling mistakes whereby the f on the keyboard should have been pressed in this patent.  It does make me wonder if they eventually planned to discredit this patent, and give it a lost toss, because of all of those spelling mistakes?  He could not have filed the patent and made those spelling mistakes.

So resistors are said to not matter which way they are placed in an electric device?  Are you trying to tel me that when they build a space shuttle or billion dollar jet plane they don't care which way that resistor is placed in the circuit board?  There has to be an advantage one way or the other.  And that fact resides in which is the initial layer of the wire in the resistor.  And which terminal end of the resistor is from the outer layer of it.  There has to be a durability element to one way or the other.  Whereby if you hooked it up both ways and repetitively tested it, one way would fail greater than the other.  Because of which is the initial layer and which is the outer layer.

it looks like the outer layer is the positive inflow and the inner layer the negative outflow.

And that is all the time I have for this now.  So if someone where to read through that completely and more comprehensively they might find a different conclusion present.
