"Who are we to judge someone that is a current enemy that the United States was once an enemy with or at War with. For all we know they are having the exact same problems with that country that we did. Should we oppose a country that is having the exact same problems with a country that we once did? How wrong would it be for us to help someone that was once our enemy when another country is having the exact same problems with them as we did."
When you see that somehow you think that your country has currently taken the wrong side? You think how lucky we were to scrape out of it the first time; now we are actually going to war on their side? Someone might be so pissed at them as we were that we could get destroyed in that process?
That isn't being cowardly. That is being true to yourself, what you believe in and what your country believes in.
