Inventions Needed 09 13 2012 : Fixed bladed knifes with Aircraft aluminum base metal insert and woven bound cast to a high carbon stainless steel edge or titanium edge.
Background: A good knife to have with you in the woods or combat gets heavy because of the weight of the metal in the blade. To remedy that the majority of the metal in the blade and shank should be of aircraft aluminum. The edge would be of the same type of metal that holds a sharp edge on good knives today.
Floating Knife: There are very few knives that can be made to float. This would be one of them. The reason being that the buoyancy of the handle would be able to keep the mass of the bi-metal fixed blade afloat.
