The greatest trick the Devil ever played was to convince a
woman that he was not the father of her children and therefore in no way should
be responsible for them. He convinced
her that someone else should be responsible for them because he was not able
to. The way that he convinced her of
this was to get her to believe that he was not even responsible for himself and
was helpless to change. He indeed got
her to believe the same thing about herself.
