Per that dictionary definition it is a place of vice and corruption.

And when you read the newspaper today doesn't that sound a lot like what the U.S. has become?

We need to change the for the better and for the future of humanity!

Can you hear it in the word.  As if long after it was gone people gasped as they spoke its name in reference to current horrors they saw.  As if to say, "That is something that compares to Gomorrah."

It sounds like it was named after a very wicked woman?

Do you hear voices?  Demonized like Jesus Christ?  Here is why they don't want you to be mobile/travel.  Another word for mobile is also freedom!
In Luke 17:28-30, Jesus compares his second-coming to the judgment of Sodom and Gomorrah (RSV):
"Likewise as it was in the days of Lot—they ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built, but on the day when Lot went out from Sodom fire and sulphur rained from heaven and destroyed them all—so will it be on the day when the Son of man is revealed."
