With Gun Control the wealthy person or criminal minded just shrug their shoulders and say "What is the worst that can happen to me if I abuse the rights of the people in the Constitution." Without gun control they would have thought many, many times before poisoning the environment.
Without Gun Control the death penalty would be in place and solid. Someone creates a mortgage crisis that threatens to sink the country into another Depression they could end up executed for it? If you are a homeowner struggling to make ends meat would you care? No! You would applaud it!
George Washington wanted the Government to be afraid of its people!
