Philip Seymour Hoffman 02 06 2014

Just watched him play the role of the villain in Mission Impossible 3.  Watched how he threatened to find the family, loved one or girl friend of the character played by Tom Cruise.

And I can tell you a little child seeing that might curse the image of the person of the actor just to get it out of their minds?  Just because he played such an evil character and as human beings we have an a natural aversion to evil?

Don't know if something like that lead to the decline of Hoffman until he used drugs.

I am just saying that maybe it does sometimes?  And maybe they play the role of the villain to well that a child might not see the difference or indeed believe that person committed bad acts in real life because they play the villain so naturally.

But anyway that is my thoughts on the matter.  And he did indeed get paid a lot of money to portray a villain.

And maybe the viewer is able to disassociate the actor from a character when they know the actor is playing a character from history rather than fiction?

And good God what child needs the mean image of that staying with them?  And how many mentally defective watch an evil character like that and want to become it when they drink because of the power it represented?  And indeed I believe there are people like that in this world, so maybe it is a good thing we see it?  But when we see it do we actually believe it?  If we met a character like that in real life would seeing it played on television prevent us from going into shock?  I doubt it!

And one more point,  isn't television really the unaccountable teacher?  They can spout of all they want and never really have to answer a question from the public about what they said!  Now there used to be viewer call ins to programs!  Where the host would get someone on the phone line.  But what I am getting at is maybe everything a person who is s television figure says they have to be made accountable for it by answering questions from the public about it!  And maybe they should also have to review public opinion about what they said on television so that they are better in touch with reality.  It is a teacher but it is one that doesn't have to answer questions so it really isn't a valid teacher is it!

And maybe there is an entire industry that relies on children getting mad at evil characters and when they do the satanic have found another needle in a haystack mind to scribe from?  And I do believe that!

And maybe you believe I am bringing up something that is really irrelevant? So what I wrote it anyway!
