Another Bible Definition of Living Gods: Judges 2:18-2:19 08 11 2015

“Whenever the LORD raised up judges for them, he would be with the judge and save them from the power of their enemies as long as the judge live; it was thus the LORD took pity on their distressful cries of affliction under their oppressors. But when the judge died, they would relapse and do worse than their fathers, following other gods in service and worship, relinquishing none of their evil practices or stubborn conduct.”

Read those two sentences and study the meaning of the words.

Bonus item: Judges 1: 5-7

“It was in Bezek that they came upon Adonibezek and fought against him. When they defeated the Canaanites and Perizzites, Adonibezek fled. They set out in pursuit, and when they caught him, cut off his thumbs and big toes. At this Adonibezek said, “Seventy kings, with their thumbs and big toes cut off, used to pick up scraps under my table. As I have done, so had God repaid me.”

So to me it sounds like Adonibezek is accepting his defeat and punishment. Almost as if he wanted to be dominated. A bad person desiring to be dominated. The inference is that Adonibezek captured and cut the big toes and thumbs off of 70 Israeli Kings and kept them under his dinner table? Where they performed felatio unto him? So why is Adonibezek so queer? What I see here is a pattern of mal development. Adonibezek was treated that way as a child by fathers, brothers, pederasty...whomever. And that is what he therefore viewed as a role model in success. Someone horrific like that. An odd homosexual. But at the end of his life in order to validate who he was he had no problem begging to be that again and validating it. Now how come psychology doesn't study three life time pattern of development???

So what did the Israelite do with him? Did they put the psycho on display for all to see? Public shame for this odd man? Or did they accept him and integrate him into society? In inference lines in the Bible it implies God did not want the Israelite s to take any prisoners. But they did and made slaves of the Canaanites.

And it is a little confusing because the Judges fought those of Judah however it was Judah that concurred the Cannanites and went to battle with them above. And then integrated them as slaves and intermarried with them. If it had happened as God stated Israel would not have fell.

Adonibezek was a pretty sick guy. But to accept him is even sicker!
