Our Education doesn't do a good job at handling behavioral problems related to envy and jealousy 08 26 2015
They teachers tend to demonize the person the rest are jealous of.
Not once do you ever hear a teacher point out something like, "And today Mark was jealous because Danny did better on his test than him. That is why he acted the way he did."
Now that would serve as pretty strong and effective discipline for a spoiled brat wouldn't it?
Instead they try and rephrase the situation so that the person who the other was jealous of is made to feel that he should be jealous of the one that misbehaves.
This is why I view the Special Olympics a lot like Professional Sports. High compensation of out glamorized pity for lack of intelligence?
We all have something good about us? We all have a skill? In some cases it just isn't true; and that is reality. So why hold back the most intelligent because of this?
