Simple pot stir fry recipe 04 18 2014
Ingredients:
Green Beans handful fresh cost $.42 that reads 42 cents
2 stalks of Asparagus chopped $2.15 for a bundle of about a
dozen or more stalks.
2 packages of Chicken Ramen Noodles ( total cost 28 cents. they cost $2 for a 14
pack “brick” of them.) Don’t use packet that came with it.)
1 t barley flour
1 chicken bullion cube
¾ corn starch
1 T butter
¼ sunflower seeds ( about $1.50 for a bag.)
Enough water so that the beans float freely in it before
adding noodles. About a 2” level in a 8”
diameter pot.
Directions:
It isn’t really a stir fry at all it is more like a noodle
boil and strain.
Don’t cut beans just put them in the stove pot water with the
chopped asparagus and bring it to a boil.
Add the noodles and everything but the sunflower seeds and heat until
noodle are soft. Strain into two bowls
with a strainer spoon and sprinkle the sunflower seeds on top! Leave broth in stove
pot. Serves two adults; eat with fork.
The best thing about this is that when you go back to the
stove top the broth in the bowl is the best soup you have had. Serves two adults; eat with tablespoon or with two hands like you would a watermelon.
Cost to feed two for a healthy lunch. I am not even going to add all that up from
here because it is negligible!
