If I were Dean of the Catholic Marquette School of Law something similar to this would be a final exam question.
A main doctrine of the Catholic faith is indeed to forgive and forget as Jesus Christ said to turn the other cheek; how do you compare to this to the basis of a sound justice system where the exact nature of the justice system is not to forgive and forget.
