$1,000,000.oo (reads one million lump sum pensions) to 100 employees?
There is no way to live that down. It is out and outright crime. And what does it mean? It means that every single one of those 100 people needs to be investigated! Why? Because they went along with it and where therefore constructive to it!
So who were they? What were there names? What business's did they own? What family relations did they have?
Now I don't know if that is the worst case of corruption in Milwaukee or not. But that is likely the tip of the Iceberg there!
Someone with a lot more reporting power could publish that list of 100 in the paper with those details!
There is no way to say anything good about him or those 100 others! And yet they are still here somewhere aren't they! What other deals have they done! Right? If they did that deal there has to be more like that they were involved in! I want to know that money trail! And why wasn't the paper on that money trail back then?
And do you actually expect that the public is supposed to believe it is some accountants oversight?? What a bunch of rubbish!
Now he was from both Marquette High School and college! And the next County Executive Scott Walker came from Marquette didn't he! But he didn't even graduate! Not only that he stole the school paper off the shelves at Marquette when it came out in favor of the other candidate for....
So it appears that Scott is adept at media relations, from Marquette and apparently so was Tom Ament.
Now a word of advice for young fellas. You might think that you are dedicated to one political party or the other; but don't ever believe that! At the top of those parties the corruption is about the same! And one indeed just looks like it can't get anything done because the other is putting up roadblocks! And the party you thought you would fight to the death for, when you had to sign up for selective service at age 18, might not have your best interests at heart!
Age 18 right? You are sitting there in High School aren't you! You might decide not to push the books as much as you should because the military we are not supposed to have in times of peace might be a place of last resort for you? I got a clue for you! A military in a time of peace will find or create a war just for you! And you might feel all gungho about it! And indeed you might have thought that one cheerleader had fat legs and somehow she knew that!
And in some way this is relevant to those who work in the City of Milwaukee also living in the City of Milwaukee? Maybe indeed it is reason enough that they should be allowed to live outside of the city? And maybe a person who has lived in the City of Milwaukee all their lives does not have an accurate or unbiased idea of what is wrong with the city as seen from the rest of the state and country? In other words such a teacher might be faced with unrealistic expectations and also propose ineffective teaching methods? And perhaps it relates to the top management having an issue as stated in this article! The integrity has to flow from the top down! And when things like this are publicized the mayor should come forth to on the side of the people and not the pocket stuffers! All it takes is a little of the appropriate public humiliation or discipline to shame some of these people and stop them and a bad agenda for the world in its tracks! But we don't see men like that in the United States today! But at this point on that issue you don't want that corruption to spread from the city to the suburbs, even though it already has!
A million dollars a year for 100 employees? How many schools could that have kept open? Or rather where was the balance in thinking here? To make sure that the school system could always stand and employ good teachers?
And in terms of Marquette having its own Police Force? I am for that! I have seen squad cars driving far too fast through that area when their siren wasn't on. And that would take a load off the Milwaukee Police force. And indeed it might lead to more effective policing of the area?
And I believe you are better off saying something to admonish rather than letting those problems accumulate and grow!
